Credenz

Credenz is the annual technical festival organised by the PICT IEEE Student Branch. Started in 2004, with a view to elicit the best out of each and every one, it has grown to become one of the finest technical events in Pune. Credenz aims not only to infuse a competitive spirit among participants, but also widen their horizons in the ever-changing field of technology via myriad seminars and workshops.
Participants get a chance to discover their talents and thrive in numerous events like Clash, B Plan, RoboLIGA, WebWeaver, Pixelate, Cretronix, Paper Presentation and DataWiz. This is a unique chance for the students to go beyond the traditional spheres of academics and make the most of their potential. This spirit of learning and discovery has inspired the PICT IEEE Student Branch to present Credenz , a podium for you to nurture and cultivate your talents.

Technical Events

Clash/RC

Clash/Rc is a C/C++ and Python based competitive coding contest held in high regard for the conceptual challenges it brings to a coder's mind, 'C'-LASH beckons all the programmers out there, amateur and experienced alike, to participate and enhance their coding skills.
Utterly professional yet non-compromising on coding-fun, 'C'-LASH tests you for your speed, logic and checks if you have the right outlook towards a problem.

Cretronix

Cretronix is a competition based on electronics theory and electrical components which tests the participants' knowledge right from resistors, inductors upto ICs and amplifiers for students from FE to BE.
Challenge your brains to clear a test where you demonstrate your knowledge in the field of electronics, physics, logical ability and build a circuit by interpreting the hints provided.

DataWiz

The only way to mine this resource is to get your hands dirty and dig through thousands of entries in a spreadsheet to find the right attributes.
Credenz presents DataWiz, a data science and machine learning oriented event. Create the most accurate ML model for the given dataset.

NTH

An online treasure hunt where players find different pieces of clues on various websites to solve a variety of puzzles. Solve a set of riddles with important clues and get to the finish line before anyone can.

There are three quizzes :

Credenz Tech Dayz

Credenz Tech Dayz (CTD) is organized by the PICT IEEE Student Branch annually, in the even semester, to coincide with the IEEE membership drive. CTD brings with it a gusto that is portrayed in the form of seminars by esteemed industrialists. These seminars provide a platform wherein the students are exposed to the latest innovations in technology. They also get an opportunity to interact with experts from the industry, thus giving them further insights into and helping them to develop their skills in the technical field. Seminars are organized as a part of CTD ’20. The seminars on “Competitive Coding” and “Applied Machine Learning” drew deep interest from the students and were also immensely appreciated.
Apart from the seminars, competitive technical events such as the National Computing Contest (NCC) and Network Treasure Hunt will be held to give CTD a technical hand. Take your wits and expertise to the next level in non technical events like Unravel and InQUIZitve.

NCC

NCC's an opportunity to dive into the great depths of competitive coding! PICT IEEE Student Branch brings to you the National Computing Contest(NCC).
NCC is a platform where you can not only sharpen your problem solving ability but also showcase your programming skills.
So, get ready to code, compile and run your C/C++ code, to stay ahead of the time as well as your friends.

NTH

Network Treasure Hunt is an online cryptic hunt played worldwide. Don't just see, observe! Follow the trails of clues you have and piece together every bit of the puzzle. You can use every tool at your disposal. Just Google will not be enough to get you through this brain racking experience. Strive to get your name on top of the leaderboard and win exciting prizes. Anyone can be a part of this nail-biting online contest. The questions will surely leave you bewildered.

Non-Technical Events

InQuizitive

InQuizitive gives the opportunity for all to put minds to test, and your rack your brains in InQuizitive. If you’ve always wondered if you have what it takes to win in a competition that requires only your presence of mind and general awareness, here is your chance to test it.
PISB brings you InQuizitive, a general quiz that will make you rack your brains, with topics ranging from pop culture to current affairs. Open for all students of FE, SE, TE and BE, InQuizitive does not have any particular syllabus or criteria for participating. This classic showdown of general knowledge and trivia!

Unravel

Every one as a little kid has fantasized to be a solver, a detective, a spy cop saving the world! Hence, turn on your wisdom to join the amazing treasure hunt.
PISB presents UNRAVEL! One of the most interesting and brainstorming games during the Credenz Tech Dayz!
A game with series of mysteries, Even if you start easy, it needs the wise to reach the hidden clues and a smart brain to decode them. The riddles and puzzles based on math equations, trending world of entertainment will make your familiar thoughts go witty. Every hint is an answer in itself, it gets deeper and dark as you unveil the secrets. The more you win, the more you get lost But the triumph of the hunt is worth the cost! Therefore, get on your toes and gather the courage to explore a hunt you have never experienced before! Turn up to be a spy, decode the clues, unearth the evidences and unevil the dark mystery which will lead you to the treasure hidden.

Seminars

PISB organises seminars by esteemed industrialists. These seminars provide a platform wherein the students are exposed to the latest innovations in technology. Seminars brings together small groups for meetings, focusing each time on some particular subject, in which everyone presents and gains immense knowledge and are benefited by the same. These seminars have speakers from top industries. Seminars are organized periodically during whole year. Even non-technical seminars such as “A Seminar on German Language” by Deutsche Active and “Career Development” seminar by BYJU’s help the students gain information about the vast career opportunities. The seminars on “Competitive Coding” and “Applied Machine Learning” drew deep interest from the students and were also immensely appreciated.

Abizer Lokhandwala
Toshal Agrawal

An introductory seminar on Competitive Coding was held by PISB.
The seminar was conducted by a PISB alumnus Mr. Abizer Lokhandwala who’s currently a software development engineer at CodeNation and also a 6-star rated coder on CodeChef. The second speaker for the seminar was Mr. Toshal Agrawal who is currently pursuing his bachelor’s in PICT and is placed in Deutsche Bank.
During the course of the seminar, the following were covered:
1. The basics of Competitive Coding and how to get started with it.
2. How to prepare for interview questions.
3. The benefits of Competitive Coding in placements
4. Internships and projects while in college.
5. General doubts about Coding in college.
The response was wonderful. We are grateful to Mr. Abizer, Mr. Toshal, the organizing team and the audience for making this a huge success.

ML India

An introductory seminar on Getting started with Machine Learning was held by PISB.
The seminar was conducted by the founder and director of ML India, Miss Priyanka Kasture.
During the course of the seminar, the following were covered:
1. The basics of Machine Learning and how to get started with it.
2. Different Domains and subdomains of AI and ML.
3. Machine Learning as a booming Technology
4. Internships and projects while in college.
5. General doubts about Coding in college.
The response was amazing. We are grateful to Miss Priyanka Kasture, the organizing team and the audience for making this a huge success.

Special Interest Groups

Special interest groups (SIG) are organised by the PICT IEEE Student Branch. It was started with a view to elicit the best out of each and every one. SIG aims not only to infuse a competitive spirit among participants, but also widen their horizons in the ever-changing field of technology via knowledge shared. Participants get a chance to widen their talents. This is a unique chance for the students to go beyond the traditional spheres of academics and make the most of their potential. This spirit of learning and discovery has inspired the PICT IEEE Student Branch to conduct the Special interest groups (SIG), a podium for students to nurture and cultivate your talents.

CPP

PICT IEEE Student Branch organised a Special Interest Group (SIG) on CPP.
C++ is a powerful general-purpose programming language. It can be used to develop operating systems, browsers, games, and so on.
This is an excellent opportunity, for all who wants to learn the language and improve their skills.
The SIG was conducted by SE students, they taught all of the concepts of the language that are required at the FE level it also helped them with their academic studies.

Website

PICT IEEE Student Branch organised a Special Interest Group (SIG) on HTML and CSS.
HTML (the Hypertext Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) are two of the core technologies for building Web pages. HTML provides the structure of the page, CSS the (visual and aural) layout, for a variety of devices.
This is an excellent opportunity, for all and for those who no background in coding and those who wants to learn the language!
The SIG was conducted for the FE's by the SE students to give Idea about web devlopment and get them started with it.

C Programming

PICT IEEE Student Branch organised a Special Interest Group (SIG) on C language.
C is a powerful general-purpose programming language. It is used to develop software like operating systems, databases, compilers, and so on.

This is an excellent opportunity, for all and for those who no background in coding and those who wants to learn the language!
The SIG was conducted for the FE's by the SE students to teach all of the concepts of the language that are required.

Python

PICT IEEE Student Branch organised a Special Interest Group (SIG) on the Basics of Python.
Python is a very powerful language, it's very user friendly and is widely used for Data Science and Machine Learning.
This is an excellent opportunity, especially for all those who no background in coding and those who are just curious to learn the language!
The SIG was conducted by SE students, they taught all of the concepts of the language that are required at the FE level.
